Child Custody

Child Custody

In Mississippi, one parent will often have primary physical child custody, while in other divorces the parents share joint legal and physical custody of the children, This arrangements requires both parties agree upon Joint Custody issues. Many CHANCELLORS DO NOT FAVOR THESE JOINT CHILD CUSTODY ARRANGEMENTS. If the court is deciding this issue – it will act in the best interest of the child/ children as they determine.

Mississippi Statutory Child Support guidelines apply in every case involving children. The party not having physical custody of the child will be called upon to contribute to the support of the minor child. Child Support will continue until the child is twenty-one unless otherwise indicated.
